Cocoa is more than an ingredient—it is a witness to history. In Stranger Lands: Cocoa’s Journeys to Asia is an exhibition identity that traces the intertwined paths of cocoa, colonialism, and culture. Through the medium of cocoa ink print, the identity transforms raw material into a storytelling device, revealing the marks of labor, exploitation, and displacement that have shaped its journey. As the ink spreads across paper, it carries with it the weight of forgotten narratives, inviting audiences to see, feel, and reflect on the forces that have shaped the world we inherit today.
